Construction Safety Council Working For Your Protection

Six construction men and women lose their lives to job-related incidents in the United States every day. But even one life a year is too many. The Construction Safety Council (CSC) is an important resources for workers and contractors that is dedicated to helping reduce tragic and costly accidents, injuries and illnesses. Through a wide range of programs, the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council (CCSC) is your personal source for information to keep you safe on the job. In fact, the council has been providing credible safety and health information to the construction industry for more than 12 years, including:

Training and Education: Qualified instructors provide safety training to both construction employers and employees. Classes are taught at the training center in Hillsdale, Ill., and at outreach and on-site locations. In addition, CSC holds an annual Construction Safety Conference and Expo, which showcases to learn about the latest safety products and services and offers professional development seminars, training programs and mini-sessions.

Training Materials and Publications: CSC delivers current, pertinent and timely construction safety information (in conjunction with training courses offered) through its monthly and quarterly publications, as well as other educational materials that cover a variety of other targeted safety programs.

Research: The council conducts extensive research of fatalities, injuries, loss and Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) citations prior to the development of all training programs to create the most comprehensive coverage of safety concerns for a particular topic.

Consultation: CSC has collected the credentials of consultants with specialized knowledge and certification. These references are made available to contractors, unions and associations that may require either immediate or long-term safety consultation.

The council was chartered by a board of directors composed mostly of large construction company owners and operators. As a not-for-profit organization, CSC is funded by the contributions and grants from both the public and private sector. Since its humble beginnings in 1989, the organization has quickly grown to become a world class professional construction consortium with associations that span the globe.
